If you’re looking to boost your internet speeds on Koodo, I’ve got the best solution for you. I’ve personally configured Koodo APN settings on both Android and iOS devices, and these settings make a noticeable difference in connection speed and stability. Whether you’re facing slow speeds or connectivity issues, following this guide will help you resolve those problems.
Why Configure Koodo APN?
In most cases, when you pop in a Koodo SIM, the APN settings are configured automatically. However, there are times when manual setup is needed, especially if you’re using a non-Koodo device or experiencing poor data performance. From my experience, tweaking the APN settings can help significantly when:
- Using a non-Koodo phone: Devices not originally from Koodo may not automatically load the proper settings.
- Connectivity issues: If you’re experiencing slow mobile data or inconsistent MMS delivery, resetting and verifying APN settings usually resolves the issue.
Koodo APN Settings
Here are the settings I personally use and recommend:
- Name: Koodo (or any name you prefer)
- APN: sp.koodo.com
- MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc

- MMS Port: 8799
- MCC: 302 (for Canada)
- MNC: 220 (Koodo-specific)

How I Configure Koodo APN on Android
When setting up an APN on Android, it’s essential to follow the steps correctly. Here’s exactly how I do it:
- Open Settings: I start by navigating to “Network & Internet.”
- Access Point Names (APN): Once in “Mobile Network,” I tap on “Access Point Names.”
- Create a New APN: Tap the plus sign and manually input the details mentioned above.
- Save the APN: After entering the information, I save it by selecting the â‹® menu and choosing “Save.”
- Select the New APN: Lastly, I ensure the newly created APN is selected as the active one.
This process is straightforward, but each detail counts, especially ensuring fields like “APN Type” are accurately input.

How I Configure Koodo APN on iPhone
For iPhone users, configuring the APN is just as easy:

Troubleshooting Koodo APN Issues
Sometimes, even after entering the correct settings, you might still face connectivity issues. Here are the troubleshooting tips I’ve found most helpful:
- Restart the device: This is the quickest way to resolve minor issues. A restart refreshes the network connection and has worked wonders for me.
- Check network coverage: Ensure you’re in an area with solid Koodo signal coverage. I’ve often noticed slow speeds when in areas with weak signals, so try testing your connection in a different location.
- Reset network settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This option clears any misconfigured network settings and gives you a fresh start.
- Contact Koodo Support: If all else fails, reaching out to Koodo’s customer service can help. They have the resources to diagnose issues on their end.

Additional Tips for Improving Koodo Data Speeds
Aside from configuring the APN correctly, a few other tweaks can help improve your mobile data speeds:
- Disable background apps: Some apps continuously use data in the background. Turning these off can free up bandwidth for the apps you’re actively using.
- Turn off data-saving modes: Ensure you don’t have any data-saving features enabled as they can throttle your speed.
Conclusion
Configuring the proper Koodo APN settings has made a significant difference for me in terms of internet speed and reliability. Whether you’re on Android or iPhone, the steps are simple but crucial for ensuring that you’re connected to Koodo’s network at optimal performance.

I have had loads of issues with my Xiaomi 13 ultra on koodos network.
They keep messing with their network causing my phone to disconnect and resetting the default APNs and forcing my phone to revert to the default APN that they create.
At the moment I have to have “APN: SP.KOODO.COM”
This has to be in ALL CAPS. Dont ask me why… but if it isnt all caps, it will not work.
